Wind is a large driving force in ERCOT as any observer knows. One of the issues is forecasting the amount of delivered wind as it can differ from what actually gets delivered. A primary reason is that the resources are left economically stranded.

Here is a plot of the Actual and Forecasted wind in the Panhandle Region (ERCOT data). This is just a subset of the wind we usually plot in our daily update.

Notice the general plateau of Actual delivered wind just under 3 GW (although there are exceptions like on 4/16). Coming up, it looks like > 3 GW is in the forecast. We expect some of this to be stranded supply.
